Our coking coal projects

Berenice / Cygnus

The Berenice-Cygnus Coking Coal Project is located in the Soutpansberg coalfield, which is situated north of the Soutpansberg mountain range in South Africa's Limpopo province.

Somerville / Donkin

The Somerville-Donkin Project is located in the Tuli coalfield, northwest of the Soutpansberg coalfield.

The Kangala Coal Project is located approximately 65km east of Johannesburg, in the Witbank coalfield in Mpumalanga province, which supplies more than 50% of South Africa's saleable export and domestic coal.

Brakfontein

The Brakfontein Coal Project is located in the Delmas district, on the western margin of the Witbank coalfield. Brakfontein has a valid new order Prospecting Right and a Mining Right will be applied for when Measured Resources have been delineated.

Roodekop

The Roodekop Coal Project is located in the Kriel district, centrally on the southern margin of the Witbank coalfield. Universal Coal has the opportunity to acquire up to 74% of the prospecting rights of this project from its BEE partner.
